Fairview Fire: New Accusations Against Southern California Edison

Accusations of improper maintenance and timely action have been leveled against Southern California Edison in relation to the Fairview Fire. Many believe the company failed to properly maintain and de-energize electrical lines, causing the blaze.

Details have emerged finding that the California Public Utilities Commission authorized utility companies (including Southern California Edison) to shut down power grids in an attempt to prevent wildfires in high-risk areas. Edison allegedly failed to shut off circuits, which could have caused the devastating and deadly fire.  In its initial incident report, Edison stated that “circuit activity occurred close in time to the reported start time of the fire.”
